NC State – Spring

Spring in Sevilla brings warmer weather, blooming flowers, and a city alive with anticipation. As the semester unfolds, you’ll experience two of Sevilla’s most iconic celebrations—Semana Santa (Holy Week) and the Feria de Abril—up close and firsthand. Studying abroad in the spring offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditions, energy, and cultural rhythm that define Sevilla at its most vibrant.

LSCS

Designed for students who have completed Intermediate Spanish II but are still developing conversational confidence, the Language, Society, and Cultural Studies (LSCS) program emphasizes continued language growth through academic and cultural immersion in Sevilla. Students who have completed at least WLSP 201 enroll in coursework at COWA in subject areas such as art, language, history, and politics, alongside other LSCS students. In addition, students may take one course in Spanish or English at the Universidad de Sevilla with other international students, further enriching their academic and cultural experience.

SAS

Designed for students ready to put their Spanish into practice and move closer to fluency, the Spanish Advanced Studies (SAS) program offers a more immersive academic experience in Sevilla. Students who have completed at least WLSP 202 enroll in advanced coursework and take at least one regular university course alongside Spanish students at the Universidad de Sevilla or Campus Universitario EUSA. In addition, SAS students may take COWA courses—taught by local professors—that are pre-approved for NC State credit and tailored specifically to advanced learners.
